Rearrange PDF Pages

Change the order of the pages.

When to use it

Use it to put pages in the right order after a scan, or to move an appendix or a cover page to another place.

How it works

  1. Choose a file, or drop it onto the box above.
  2. Type the new page order, for example 3, 1, 2 or 5-8, 1-4. Pages you leave out are not included.
  3. Press the Reorder pages button.
  4. Download the result, or add a next step without downloading.

Where your file goes

This tool runs in your browser: the file is processed on your device and is not uploaded. The Network tab of your browser's developer tools shows this.

What is kept, and what is not

Every page is copied exactly; nothing is re-encoded.

Limits

  • Pages you leave out of the new order are not included, so you can reorder and remove pages in one step.
  • Files up to 512 MB each.
  • PDF documents up to 5,000 pages.
  • The work happens in your device's memory, so a phone may fail on a file that a computer handles.

If something goes wrong

Some pages are missing from the result

Only the pages you list are kept. Write the full order, for example 1-3, 7, 4-6, 8-10.

The PDF asks for a password

Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), then try again.

The page becomes slow with a very large file

Close other tabs, or use a computer instead of a phone.

My file is not accepted

Check the formats listed above. A damaged file, or one with the wrong extension, is refused with a message saying why.

Questions

Can a page appear twice?

Yes. A page you list twice appears twice in the result.

Can a range run backwards, such as 10-1?

No. A range is always read from the lower to the higher number. To reverse pages, list them one by one, for example 3, 2, 1.

Continue with the result

The result can go straight into another tool on this page, without downloading it and uploading it again:
