Merge PDF

Combine several PDFs into one document.

When to use it

Use it to put several PDFs together, such as scanned pages, invoices or chapters, so you can send, print or archive them as one file.

How it works

  1. Choose your files, or drop them onto the box above. You can add several at once.
  2. Add two or more PDFs, order them, and merge.
  3. Press the Merge PDFs button.
  4. Download the result, or add a next step without downloading.

Where your file goes

This tool runs in your browser: the file is processed on your device and is not uploaded. The Network tab of your browser's developer tools shows this.

What is kept, and what is not

Page content, size and rotation are kept. Bookmarks and form fields are not carried over yet.

Limits

  • The files are joined in the order you set. The pages inside each file keep their own order.
  • Files up to 512 MB each.
  • PDF documents up to 5,000 pages.
  • The work happens in your device's memory, so a phone may fail on a file that a computer handles.

If something goes wrong

The merged file is very large

Merging copies every page as it is, so the result is about as large as all the files together. Add Compress PDF as the next step.

The PDF asks for a password

Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), then try again.

The page becomes slow with a very large file

Close other tabs, or use a computer instead of a phone.

My file is not accepted

Check the formats listed above. A damaged file, or one with the wrong extension, is refused with a message saying why.

Questions

How many PDFs can I merge?

The tool sets no fixed number; your device's memory is the practical limit. If this site has a file limit, it is shown under Limits.

Can I change the order of single pages, not just of files?

Yes, in a second step. Merge keeps each file's pages in order; add Rearrange PDF Pages after it to move single pages.

Continue with the result

The result can go straight into another tool on this page, without downloading it and uploading it again:
