Merge Excel Files
Combine workbooks, keeping formatting.
When to use it
Use it to combine monthly reports, exports from several branches or the work of several people into one workbook.

- Choose one sheet per source sheet, or all rows in one sheet.
- Press the Merge workbooks button.
- Download the result, or add a next step without downloading.

- Files
- Several files, combined into one result
Where your file goes
This tool runs in your browser: the file is processed on your device and is not uploaded. The Network tab of your browser's developer tools shows this.
On first use, your browser downloads the code this tool needs from this site. Your file is not sent anywhere.
What is kept, and what is not
Cell values, styles, column widths and merged cells are kept in both modes. In single mode the sheets move into one sheet and their formulas are rewritten to follow them, including references from one merged sheet to another. A formula that cannot be moved honestly — a whole column, a named range, a sheet outside the merge — keeps the value it last showed, gets a note in the cell, and is listed after the merge.
Limits
- Only XLSX and XLSM workbooks are accepted. Convert CSV files to Excel first.
- Files up to 512 MB each.
- The work happens in your device's memory, so a phone may fail on a file that a computer handles.
If something goes wrong
A formula shows a note after merging
Formulas that cannot be moved safely keep their last value and get a note. The list after the merge tells you which cells to check.
The page becomes slow with a very large file
Close other tabs, or use a computer instead of a phone.
My file is not accepted
Check the formats listed above. A damaged file, or one with the wrong extension, is refused with a message saying why.
Questions
One workbook with many sheets, or everything on one sheet?
Choose one sheet per source sheet to keep them apart, or the single-sheet mode to stack all rows under each other.
Is formatting kept?
Yes. Values, styles, column widths and merged cells are kept in both modes.
