SQLite Schema Viewer

See every table, column, key, index, view and trigger in a database.

When to use it

Use it to see what a .db file contains before you convert it or query it, or to document a database.

How it works

  1. Choose your files, or drop them onto the box above. You can add several at once.
  2. Add a SQLite database. It is opened read-only on your device.
  3. Press the Show schema button.
  4. Download the result, or add a next step without downloading.

Supported formats

Input
SQLite (.db, .sqlite, .sqlite3, .db3)
Output
JSON
Files
One or several; each file is processed on its own

Several results can be downloaded one by one or together as a ZIP.

Where your file goes

This tool runs in your browser: the file is processed on your device and is not uploaded. The Network tab of your browser's developer tools shows this.

On first use, your browser downloads the code this tool needs from this site. Your file is not sent anywhere.

What is kept, and what is not

Nothing is changed. The full structure is saved as JSON, with exact row counts.

Limits

  • It shows the structure and the row counts, not the data. To see rows, use Run SQL on SQLite or SQLite to Excel.
  • Files up to 512 MB each.
  • The work happens in your device's memory, so a phone may fail on a file that a computer handles.

If something goes wrong

The file is refused

The file is not a SQLite database, or it is damaged. Only SQLite files can be inspected here.

The page becomes slow with a very large file

Close other tabs, or use a computer instead of a phone.

My file is not accepted

Check the formats listed above. A damaged file, or one with the wrong extension, is refused with a message saying why.

Questions

How do I open a .db file?

Add it here to see its tables and columns. If it is a SQLite database, you can then view the data in Excel with SQLite to Excel.

Is the database changed?

No. It is opened read-only.
